The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl
Let us take a moment to recognize, appreciate, and express our gratitude for the incredible teamwork and dedication we witnessed at our Houston operation in response to Hurricane Beryl’s recent challenges.
Despite the power outage from July 8 to July 11, everyone rallied together until July 14 to ensure our customers were taken care of and our operations were up and running smoothly. The efforts put forth by the Houston Crew, alongside the support from our Orlando team, exemplified what it means to work together towards a common goal.
Thank you, Houston Crew, for your hard work and commitment during such a trying time. Even while dealing with personal challenges due to power outages at home, you all worked tirelessly to meet our goals.
Special recognition goes to these individuals who went above and beyond during the hurricane cleanup to ensure our customers had sharp knives and our premises remained safe:
Irvin Giles, Juan Zapata Macias, Rosa Martinez de Salvador, Fausta Sanchez Jimenez, Maricela Martinez Hernandez, Julio Huitron, Kevin Deras Sandoval, Alberto Witty, Marlon Chavez Sierra, Greisy Betancourt Sosa, and Bayron Gramajo.
A special thank you to Denisse Hernandez Quintero, who worked from sunrise to sunset throughout the week, maintaining communication with Operational Managers and the team despite the downed internet and communication towers. Her efforts were crucial in keeping us connected.
We are immensely grateful to the Orlando team: Edy Azuaje Leon, Juan Godinez Martinez, Jesus Ramos Gonzalez, and Andres Soto, for stepping in and helping us meet our production demands with their positive attitudes, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
Dan Rognstad played a vital role in providing supplies and coordinating with local drivers and Dante Zamora to assist with sharpening knives.
Jordan Tullius made a remarkable effort by driving from Dallas to Houston to supply ice, water, and gasoline during the shortage. When we had the opportunity to thank Jordan during a meeting, his humble response was, “It’s easy to do the right thing.”
Thank you, Rolando, for holding the fort and ensuring everything ran smoothly during these trying times. The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl showed us the strength and unity within our Cozzini Family. We are incredibly grateful and deeply blessed to have teams that unwaveringly support our customers and each other.
